The EPCS16SI8N is a 16Mbit serial configuration device in 8 pin SOIC package. This EPCS flash memory device can store configuration data for FPGA configuration purpose after power on. It can be used on all FPGA that support ASx1 configuration scheme. We can access unused memory locations of EPCS device to store or retrieve data through Nios processor and SOPC builder. The FPGA can program the EPCS device in-system using JTAG interface.
